So i've been on the phone all day trying to track down this book. I called 3 airports, 3 airlines and on the Lord Hisself. They all say they'll call me if something turns up...but it ain't too likely.
Ugh...13bucks on amazon, 5 dollar damage/loss penalty.
The book had the address for the library all but painted on it. So maybe if someone found it on the plane, they'll just mail it to the library. How likely is that though. I didn't even get to finish reading it.
=(

Dude....dude.....duuuuude.
Came home from Christmas today. Traffic was smooth. I had a one-hopper home. I wasn't able to get a direct due to all the cancelled flights of late, but I was able to get an ealier flight to my connecting city. That put me one step closer to getting home earlier. Vacation had gone pretty well, in retrospect, I think we largely avoided the family arguments that usually plague holidays. I was on such a high that I figured maybe I should try and read some of the library books I packed, feeling there was no way I'd find time to. In fact, it was simply more likely that I'd leave them at Mom's house than read them at all. Anyway, so I get to my connecting city and I'm able to get on the list for standby home on an earlier flight as well. Things couldn't be going smoother. Until of course, I remember that I left the library book on the initial flight.
Sonofa! And of course it had to be a library book. Ugh!

The age of AQUARIUS:
"If others speak critically of you today, it can only be because they are envious of your charm, good looks and ability. Far from hurting, you their barbed remarks will encourage you to carry on with what you are doing, simply because you know it pains them to see you succeed. You're far too smart to let others undermine your confidence. "

The President's address this morning, while altogether rolling around and just short of skirting the issues like any good President does, made a single important point clear. I don't know what "haggling with myself" is supposed to mean, but the fact that he openly states he will not turn his hand on Social Security, that is most definitely needs reform, and that he does not make the law, but will work with our congres, which does, to make laws that are for the improvement of the current system and the benefit of our citizens.
Well said George. Good luck pulling that off.

It was only a matter of time I suppose. My first exposure to racism on the west coast. It was a personal attack or reaction even. As I returned from my morning run, I noticed a swastica on the cement wall along the beach walkway. I wasn't huge or detailed with any anti-semetic or nazi-type statements, only sitting by itself. Unfortunately by itself it no longer has its original Greek or Indian symbolism, but strikes mental, sometimes emotional, and social fear into minority cultures here in America and likely at this point throughout the world. It's a crying shame.

Should I not be able to make up for my, err, transgressions before I come to pass, this will be what I have to look forward to:

Take the Dante Inferno Hell Test
I apparently moved into a Steelers town. Well today the streaking Steelers play my New York Jets. Should make for taking some serious crap in the local pub. I'm hoping the game is at least respectable. In an ideal world, the JETS would win and I would be afforded to gloat with pride for my under-represented team in the town without a true home team to root for.
Gametime is but an hour away. Go Jets!

Could reach 80 degrees today and hold at over 75 tomorrow.
Now this is the type of climat that I moved to California for.
Woohoo!, I may just end up in the pacific this weekend.
Sorry to rub it in.

QUOTATION OF THE DAY
'I just assume somewhere in my life some knucklehead has looked at me and my brown self and said that they have given me less or denied me an opportunity. But the bottom line is, and my wife will attest to this, I am so insensitive that I probably didn't notice.'

Employment Information: "VISION
Uncorrected distance visual acuity of at least 20/100 in the poorer eye and 20/40 in the better eye, correctable to at least 20/40 in one eye and 20/20 in the other eye is required. Regarding refractive surgery, most persons who have had these procedures will be passed. However, some may be deferred for several months or disqualified based on an individualized assessment of the surgical outcome. Regarding color vision, you must be able to accurately and quickly name colors and you must be free of other visual impairments that would restrict your ability to perform firefighter duties. "
I'd like to say it's not fair, but if you consider it's very possible that glasses or contacts can be lost in the heat of battle and that not enough can be statistically said about refractive surgery in full contact occupations, I'd hate to lose a firefighter because their 'artificial' sight failed them.

I saw the staples center yesterday on my way to an open interview in west hollywood.
The place looks like a club from the outside. Lights, beams, trees and it's right off the highway for easy gawking ...and I guess access. It did look rather awesome altogether, though I'd personally move away from that weird green they had out last night.

I live 4.5 hrs from las vegas, it's about as easy to drive as it is to fly.
I need to get a job.
The difference is finally obvious; the low today is still 'warmer' than the high in Boston or New York....woohoo!
