subj= social security rhetoric

Kerry dressed up the plight of social securty by decribing a position that states a budgetary surplus would have covered the costs of Soc.Security till 2027.

I see budget surplus as an overtax. They didn't tax someone 10 years ago enough, so they are going to tax us more now to compensate. The current workforce cannot meet the demands of those collecting from the SS fund and thusly should have 'additional' taxes which will be slushed into this fund for currently retired individuals. What they fail to address is that, it offers no aid to the people currently paying into the system when they finally retire. Soc.Security was developed at a time when the average lifespan was some 20 years less than it currently is, yet no mention of restructuring or changing the age of retirement came in these discussions.

To say that the current workforce should not be allowed to prepare for the inability of this system to support them in retirement is simply irresponsible. To agree with the fact that simply taxing now will provide for services later, is irresponsible.

Foremost to deny someone the ability to provide for their own future, borders on being un-capitalistic and un-american.

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).. After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day, Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.....AMERICA.....

subj= the reality of minority support by the democrats

Few Minority, Women-Owned Businesses Won Contracts at DNC

My favorite quote would be:
" the analysis is faulty because it does not include minority- or women-owned businesses used as subcontractors. "

You have got to be kidding me ...the official response is ...we didn't give you the full contracts directly, but you were able to get little nibbles from the guys who got the big paycheck.

I'm still looking for a related article I came across that states the DNC was run some 6million over budget.

I'm sure the contract companies made out well on that. The thing was possibly run under budget by the subcontractors, making the payday for the bigwhigs that got the contracts officially, that much bigger.

The way of the world isn't it.
That's the democrats fighting for minority and women's rights.
Bums.

subj= a little kindness from the man

So I'm returning home from a late night and unfortunately being indoors prevents you from realizing the temperature had dropped 20degrees since I'd last been outside.

Now normally there's a little shivering on your way to the subway or coche, but unfortunately I find it necessary to ride my moto to work every day possible.

Well on my roundabout journey home, I ventured through a heavily policed town.
Now I'm not racing home, but I'm not cruising either. I'm trying to get home before my legs and face lose feeling.

I'm the only one headed my way so it was pretty easy for the po-po to tag me. I knew I'd have to pull over as soon as he turned his flashers on, and of course he banged his U.

I pulled over and prepped for the dance. It actually was a very simple transaction.
He of course asked if I knew why he pulled me over. It's 11pm on an empty road.
I answer going faster than I should be I imagine. He asks "how fast do I think I was going" and I say "45". He says 48 and takes my license asking if the vehicle is registered under my name, which it is.

As he's running my history I don't hide the fact that it's freezing and I'm well along shivering while he sits in his cruiser. He comes back calmly and suggests "just slow down and be careful, you're on a motorcycle." I extend my thanks and ensure I'll comply. 29mph with a strong humm from the engine as it begs for more revvs, but I pass at least 5 more cruisers on the way home. Talk about a safe town.

Something makes me think there's more to it. For now I'm simply glad the man let me slide home without an extra bug in my currently complicated life.

Hope you all have a similar story to pass next time you have a run in w/ the man.

subj= slave driver

boss is out of the office this weeks, making me the top dog

there is so much work that has been let to be overlooked.
while he's here I feel that it's not my place to judge performance
but while he's gone I like to establish the difference in what he expects to be accomplished and what I do.

I simply believe that there are always ways in which to make your job and tasks simpler. I work hard and strive for efficiency in order to be able to do the things I'd rather be doing, more often.

If you've completed all the things you 'have' to do, then you'll be free to do the things you 'want' to do.

subj= time on the moto

came across another bmw moto owner on the way out of work today
it being friday we were in no rush home.
Finding out we were headed in the same direction we decided to accompany each other on the ...extended...ride home.

80 minutes later through meandering roads with no cares in the world we finally parted ways
we'd never met before and as the weather moves away from motorcycle friendly, we more than likely will not again.
I can't wait to move to cali and be able to ride all year round

bye bye beantown
