subj = the stars know all

This is a great day to remind those you care for that you will always be there for them and that no matter how much trouble they may get themselves into, you won't be angry or judgmental. Whatever your own beliefs might be, you realize that everyone has the right to be different, and the right to learn from their own mistakes.

subj = the news today

flash - 9/11 detainees abused ; are people really surprised that the cops or any else for that matter mistreated these people....sucks.

israeli "security barrier" - isn't that what the one in Germany was?....get that @$%8! outta here.

Canadian drugs - why would the U.S. government prevent us from getting drugs from CANADA. Isn't that the whole point of NAFTA? Now get off of our backs and let us save some loot for all the hard work we do.

subj= news today ; so unfrench

flash - a woman in the throws of passion can produce a PET image that equals that of a brain on heroin.
how are we supposed to compete w/ this?

how unfrench is it for those dumb bastards to announce a bann on wearing Muslim veils and Hewbrew yarmurkles
in French schools? Aren't they the ones that let people walk all over them? Poor form. How open minded and reverent can you be if you directly prohibit someone from practicing their faith in an entirely self contained manner. Schmucks.

subj = that'll be the day

won't it be great when we can pay for vending machine goods through your mobile phone?
Oh wait...why not just make it so I can do it with my credit card? I can already pay for gas for my car that way, why not make it so I can pay for my own fuel that way. Just another cool gimmick in my book. Another why not to carry cash and have someone else have a drink on you should you misplace your phone. No big deal in my book.

subj = they got'm

woohoo they captured saddam. BIG plus points for Gdub. Even the economy is coming back. The democrats are just stewing in it right now.

subj = kinda crazy when these things work out

today's horor-scope

You have discovered a lot about other people in recent weeks and through them you have discovered a lot about yourself. Now you will get the chance to put what you have learned to good use. Others may say you have been wasting your time on situations that do not deserve your attention, but you will prove them wrong in no uncertain fashion.

and prove them wrong i will!

subj = the news today

So i think this will become a more regular subject as my paper reading has increased of late. A couple of highlights that met my interest today:

1. Pastor guns down attempted robber- some 64 year old minister shot a man dead after the assailant attacked him. Awesome.

2. Six kidnappers sentenced to die- a philippine court sentenced these guys to the death penalty for kidnapping. The irony is that there had just been some big meeting on capital punishment. Fry'em I say.

subj = free newspapers....big pro , big con

They're giving out all these free newspapers in Boston now, I can only assume to increase readership. The bone is all the paper that then winds up on the floor or in the trash. Can someone please hold these distributers responsible for the ensuing waste of paper. Could they at least put up some extra recycling bins in the subway or on the streets next to their distribution receptacles. What irks me equally is the person that leaves their free paper on a bench or train/bus with the thought that quite possibly the next person will want to read it. Isn't it equally possible they have their own FREE newspaper. Face it, the only reason people are taking all these papers is because they are free. As soon as they want to charge again, the people will rely on the internet and tv again. Nobody wants to pay for something they can get for free.
Let's get real now.

subj = it's all about utility

the true measure of a gift or object, tangible or not, is utility in my book. If it gets high use or makes life that much easier, it's got my approval.

subj = where do you draw the line?

I'm trying to decide who gets what for the holidays. Who get's visited, who gets presents, how many presents they get. If they get a big present, should you also get something small to increase total giving time or does usage time rule out in the end. If you give group A 10 presents, must group B get an equal amount? If group C is better at receiving than giving, how much do you allow this to alter your own actions? All the good spirit that is supposed to come with this time of year and it's just a different kind of drama not a lack thereof. Unfortunate isn't it, that more people don't truly believe that it's the thought that counts. It's a show me world, video killed the radio star and good intentions never put dinner on the table. So how far out do you stick your neck on the highway of life and how many strikes per at bat? Even leslie nielson couldn't keep reggy jackson from striking out.

subj = still going

Boston is still alive somehow, chaulk one up for the Plow-people who worked under an interim contract to get us through this storm. People get all hornery when those whiney athletes, whatever sport you choose, refuse to play because of contract disputes. Well I'm sure the plowers get paid a lot less and have in the end a lot more direct of an effect on our daily lives. Well these guys in Boston owned up and saved the city for lack of a better phrase. I am very grateful for your efforts and work, may your holidays all go well.

subj = more white stuff

good God.

I've shoveled the walk 3 times and the plow just puts it back as if to mock me.
Damn the plowman....have you no compassion?
It's snowed almost 2 feet with 3 and almost 4 foot drifts...holy moly.

subj= police beatings

So, if the coroner says he was effectively beaten to death, then was he not murdered? If you are in an altered state of consiousness then is it fair to assume that you are choosing to disobey police orders? If a "mentally challenged" person is asked to surrender by the police, is it equally ok for the police to beat them into submission to handcuff them. I would presume that such a person might not connect compliance with an end to the physical abuse but that they must continue any attempt at flight if they hoped to escape the abuse. If the police get to verbal or physical responses of submission does that in and of itself authorize force? Is it fair to say that regardless of mental state or capacity one is required to understand they are to be submissive to authority and equally that eventhough many people in the country don't in fact speak english they are required to understand "put your hands behind your back or else i'm premitted to beat the living daylights out of you." I'm not so sure about all that.

subj= free stuff

is there really anything better than getting something for nothing? i'm usually a big touter of TINSTAFL, but on occasion the only true cost is your time and possibly health in the case of free food and drinks. but as long as they keep it flowing, you know that i'll be going. wooohooo!

subj= flesh eaters and the death penalty

I don't know about calling it assisted suicide or anything like that. And maybe the guy simply doesn't have enough documentations, but if someone answers an ad to get maimed and eaten and enters into this agreement as a "responsible" adult. I'm not sure you can fault the cannibal for much beyond lunacy. The guy was deemed well enough to stand trial, I dont' believe that submits in any way that he isn't on another planet. That said, it is a slippery slope, but if the guy got what he "paid" for then wasn't a service provided? I think you'd have to check with doc kervorkian on that one. Crazy folk.

subj= poor planning internet sites

You'd think that when a website runs a contest or promotion that will in turn cause heavy traffic they'd make some arrangement to alleviate said burden for the sake of their customers.
Nope.

that sux.
